Newcastle Falcons looking to play aesthetic rugby

Rugby Football Union Championship side the Newcastle Falcons have made no hesitation in stating that they would love to add a lot of style to the substance of their play which has seen them race to the top of the Championship standings and becoming favorites to secure immediate promotion back to the Aviva Premiership but insisted that the club would not compromise the cutting edge of the side in the pursuit of aesthetical play. Dean Richards, the Director of Rugby of the club has repeatedly stated that he wishes to quicken the pulse at Kingston Park.

But the club wants to keep on getting the results within the framework in what seems to be an extremely harsh winter. According to Richards, it is extremely important that the Newcastle Falcons keep on winning because it is important to maintain the momentum that they currently are in. The Falcons enjoyed a break over the weekend after their match against the Welsh club Cross Keys in the British and Irish Cup which was scheduled for Saturday was postponed.

He went on to state that he remembers after a couple of his title winnings seasons with the Leicester Tigers, he and some of the players sat down with some beer and during their conversation, it came up that they hadn’t played well for two-thirds of the season but still managed to win the title. Balancing beautiful rugby with one that produces results is something that balances rugby and the club has struggled with something like this for a long time.

Richards mentioned that the season is coming towards the business end and it is important for the club to maintain their winning run as the Newcastle Falcons hope to bounce straight back from relegation to the highest tier of English professional rugby in the Premiership.
